The 11th annual El Rey Fido Coronation was a wonderful way to celebrate 11 years of fundraising and honor our 2013 El Rey Fido and Royal Court.
Millie Crowell was crowned as the 11th El Rey Fido and is already known for her grace and royal presence. The 2013 Royal Court also consists of Ziggy, Prince of the Perpetual Food Bowl; Amara, Duchess of the Indestructible Chew Toy (the youngest dog to ever grace the court and her owner, Christina, is also the youngest fundraiser to ever participate); Skylar, Duke of the Ever-Present Fire Hydrant; and Blue, Knight of the Royal Court, who were also honored for their extraordinary fundraising efforts.
In addition to the Royal Court’s announcement and coronation, we were also joined by Rey Feo LXV, Larry Benson, Sr., his royal court, and many of their dogs! It was a picture perfect moment when Rey Feo crowned our El Rey Fido Millie and truly made her feel like the queen.
Also new to this year’s coronation were the fabulous performances by Krystal Diaz and her Danzavida de San Antonio Dance Company. They kept the crowd moving to the beat and in awe of their talent and fiesta spirit. After having them join us, we can’t imagine what we ever did without them!
