Meet the strong and adorable, Gus Gus!

He is a remarkable 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair who came to us just as the New Year started. He was found by a good Samaritan in the middle of a busy street, where we suspected he was hit by a car. When he arrived, our medical team knew immediately, he needed our help.

Gus Gus

They discovered he had severe nerve damage to his front leg, to the point where he was unable to use it. His face had also sustained some injury as the right side was extremely swollen and required an x-ray.

Gus Gus had been through so much before coming to the shelter, and our team initially believed he would need an amputation. However, thanks to the dedicated staff in our Leeu Naylor Medical Building and the help of medication, physical rehabilitation, and acupuncture, Gus Gus has made miraculous progress! His face is completely back to normal, and he has slowly begun to use his front leg again.

Gus Gus

Now Gus Gus is ready to spend the rest of his recovery in a safe, loving home that can provide him with the comfort and stability he needs. He is a sweet and loving cat who, more than anything, wants to be someone’s whole world.

Gus Gus

His ideal family is going to be prepared to be slow and patient with him as he adjusts. But with time and lots of love, Gus Gus will be an amazing addition to any family! Come meet him today, he’s sure to touch your heart just as he has touched ours.
