ADOPTED! This 8-month-old Terrier mix was found wandering a neighborhood in early April alongside his sister and was brought to the shelter by a kind Good Samaritan. While his sister appeared healthy and confident, Reef’s condition raised concern.

Our team of veterinarians quickly discovered that Reef had a congenital eye condition that left him visually impaired, with the chance for potentially painful dryness and damage to both eyes. To relieve Reef’s discomfort and give him the best quality of life, our medical team made the decision to surgically remove both of Reef’s eyes. But Reef hasn’t let that slow him down one bit.

This resilient little pup is full of life! Reef loves to run around the yard, play, bark, and happily trot over for cuddles. His world may look different, but his joyful spirit is just as bright as ever.

While Reef is adapting well, adopters are still encouraged to work with a veterinarian to learn how to best support a visually impaired dog. Come spend some time with Reef and see firsthand just how incredible this brave little pup truly is – you might just find your perfect match.
