Foster, King of the Kitty Cottage 2017

Royalty comes in all shapes, sizes … and species! Fiesta 2017 marked the San Antonio Humane Society’s inaugural feline photo contest, Purr-fectly Fiesta, in which the city’s most festive felines squared off online to be crowned King/Queen of the Kitty Cottage.

Foster, the three-year-old, medium-haired smoky feline, came from humble beginnings. An unexpected addition to his current family, Foster was first discovered in 2014 as a homeless country kitten in need of shelter. Natalie King invited Foster into her home as a temporary foster, but it took less than 24 hours for Foster to turn from short-term resident into permanent family member. He is named in honor of his mom’s “failure” as a foster mom, and enjoys spending his days cuddling and playing with his sister, Penny, a one-year-old Shepherd mix.

Appreciations to Renee Spade Photography for donating her services and providing a wonderful portrait for his royal whiskered highness.
