All about OPOSSUM
OPOSSUM is a 4 months old female Terrier/Mix who weighs 8 pounds and has been with us for 68 days.
Meet the tiniest little warrior, Opossum!
Opossum is a 4-month-old Terrier mix who joined us at the beginning of March after being found as a stray. During her intake exam, this tiny pup immediately caught the attention of our medical team.
Shortly after arriving, Opossum began displaying concerning neurological symptoms that our veterinarians determined were related to seizures. When she experienced another seizure later that day, our team quickly stepped in to provide the care and support she needed. With medication, close monitoring, and lots of TLC, Opossum's seizures have been well-managed since those first incidents. While the exact cause has not yet been identified, she has been prescribed daily medication to help prevent future episodes.
Opossum will likely need to remain on medication long-term and may require additional evaluation as she grows. Potential adopters should be prepared to work closely with their primary veterinarian to continue managing her condition and ensuring she stays healthy and comfortable.
Despite her diagnosis, Opossum is every bit the happy, playful puppy. She loves running around, playing with toys, and never turns down the chance to curl up in someone's arms for cuddles.
If you're interested in giving this resilient little pup a loving home, a meeting with a member of our medical team is required to ensure adopters fully understand Opossum's needs.
