All about BUGGIE
BUGGIE is a 10 months old male Pug/Mix who weighs 18 pounds and has been with us for 68 days.
Meet a precious little pug named Buggie! He is a 10-month-old pup who was surrendered in March after his previous owners were no longer able to care for him.
During his intake exam, our medical team discovered that Buggie needed a thorough orthopedic evaluation and to ensure he remained a happy, healthy pup, Buggie received a bilateral FHNO (Femoral Head and Neck Ostectomy) procedure.
Buggie's months of recovery included laser light therapy to help his incision site, as well as extensive underwater treadmill rehabilitation. He enjoyed his hydrotherapy (with the help of some peanut butter) and often chose to enter the water treadmill on his own, showing just how determined he is to feel better.
Despite his injury and surgeries, Buggie has remained a playful pup full of personality. He continues to improve daily, gaining strength and confidence as time goes on. While he may always have a slightly altered walk, it does not dampen his energy one bit.
Buggie's future family should be prepared to support his continued recovery with a slow, steady approach to activity and ongoing veterinary guidance. Adopters are encouraged to consult with their primary veterinarian regarding his long-term care needs before adopting.
Buggie is more than ready to find a home that will continue cheering him on as he grows into the happy, adorable pug he is meant to be. Come and meet him today!
