All about HOBBES

HOBBES is a 5 years, 1 month old male Domestic Shorthair/Mix cat who weighs 11 pounds and has been with us for 55 days.

Meet Hobbes, a handsome 5-year-old with a heart full of love! Hobbes came to us at the end of January after being found as an injured stray in a local neighborhood. Upon intake, our medical team quickly discovered that he was suffering from plasma cell pododermatitis, also known as "Pillow Foot." This rare and painful inflammatory skin condition is believed to be an autoimmune disease, though the exact cause is still unknown. Pillow Foot caused redness, swelling, and discomfort in all four of Hobbes's footpads. Our team immediately started him on a treatment plan to reduce the swelling, including antibiotics, pain medication, laser therapy, and extra soft bedding in his kennel. Thanks to this care, Hobbes is now feeling much better, with all swelling gone, and he's ready to find his forever home! While Hobbes can be a little shy at first, once he gets to know you, he'll shower you with soothing purrs and affection. We encourage potential adopters to establish a relationship with a vet, as the swelling may return in the future.
