Jedediah Smith is a stellar 4-year-old Retriever mix who is over the moon to find his forever family! This bright and affectionate boy has had a long journey with us and he so deserves to find a loving home! Jedediah originally arrived at our shelter in March 2023, and has unfortunately been adopted and returned twice since then.
During a routine check-up a few months ago, our medical team noticed that Jedediah was limping and started him on laser therapy and rehab exercises to try to help his leg feel better. Unfortunately, these initial measures didn't work out, and he ended up receiving surgery to repair a torn ligament. He spent some time in our Leeu Naylor Medical Building receiving laser and ice pack therapy and lots of extra TLC, and Jedediah is now finally ready to be back out on the adoption floor and meet his forever family! He is still on some exercise restrictions to ensure his leg fully heals, but he is so ready to spend time with you!
Jedediah is a strong and energetic dog, but he's also very well-mannered and loves to impress people with his tricks! He's mastered Sit, Stay, Down, Roll Over, and can even walk in a perfect heel if you have a treat in hand! Jedediah is the perfect balance of playfulness and obedience, making him a great fit for an active family with no other pets.
