ADOPTED - Amelia

UPDATE: Amelia found her new family!

Amelia is currently our longest feline resident. She appreciates pets and affection, and is really looking to stretch her legs. She's a curious young lady! Amelia is not a fan of other cats and isn't super interested in being held or closely cuddled. But a good scratch and pet while couch-surfing will certainly be welcomed. She was found as a stray and brought to the San Antonio Humane Society so she could find her forever home. We hope Amelia will find her forever home soon! Amelia has a Guardian Angel. This means a generous donor has sponsored her adoption fee!

When meeting Amelia, please keep in mind that she is adjusting to everyday life in unfamiliar surroundings. Please forgive her if she can't seem to keep her attention on you: she may be nervous or distracted by other sights and smells.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, fiv/felv test, de-wormer, flea prevention, complimentary wellness exam within the first 5 days of adoption, 14-day complimentary follow-up care at any VCA animal hospital, and 30 days 24PetWatch Pet Insurance,

ADOPTED - Tobias

Tobias is a very good boy! This young pup loves socializing with our volunteers, and he's hoping he'll bump into his new forever family soon. He's known to walk well on his leash and loves to have his belly scratched. He's super sweet, affectionate, and you are sure to fall in love with him fast! Tobias has also spent some time socializing in our doggie playgroups! This means he's able to get along with other friendly dogs. Tobias came to the San Antonio Humane Society as a transfer from another rescue. Transferring pets between shelters opens up space for more pets to be received and also helps hard-to-adopt pets find a new family in another community. According to his previous handlers, Tobias was bitten by a snake, which caused some trauma to his eye. He has undergone surgery to correct his injuries, and his eye appears to have returned to normal! Give Tobias a chance to show you some love! Visit him today.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, complimentary wellness exam (within 5 days of adoption) and complimentary follow-up care (within 14 days of adoption) at any VCA animal hospital, and 30 days 24PetWatch Pet Insurance.

ADOPTED - Bella

UPDATE: Bella found her new family!

Bella excels in all she sets out to do! Whether it's mastering the art of fetch, earning her treats during training exercises, or bubble popping, Bella is one smart cookie. What's she working on currently? An unfortunate trait she likely picked up from a history of being abandoned: separation anxiety. Never heard of it? Separation anxiety isn't just your run-of-the-mill nervousness-dogs that suffer from separation anxiety can cause some serious damage to homes and themselves when left alone (e.g. chewing/scratching furniture or crates). Luckily, Bella has been in our care for months now and she has worked daily with our dog trainer and dog training volunteers to lessen the effects of her anxieties. Currently, Bella enjoys sitting for treats, exercising on her doggie treadmill, popping peanut butter flavored bubbles, and chasing her toys up and down the yard.

Bella Bath2019

Adopters seriously interested in Bella should speak with our Dog Trainer, Jenna, about how they can help her succeed! Adopters will be offered full training support so that we can help a smooth transition from shelter to new home. We are looking for a companion that either works from home or can guarantee that Bella will not be left alone at home for extended periods of time. Although she is also actively working on her reactivity with other dogs, we believe Bella would do well in a home without other pets (especially small animals). She does well with children and anyone willing to toss her toys around! Please consider making Bella a part of your family today.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, collar, tag, complimentary wellness exam within the first 5 days of adoption, 14-day complimentary follow-up care at any VCA animal hospital, and 30 days 24PetWatch Pet Insurance.

ADOPTED - Wiley

Wiley was recently a TV star! This sweet 4-year-old Pitty made his debut on KENS5 and he was a hoot on air. Wiley absolutely loves rope toys and playing a good game of fetch. This smart pup knows how to SIT and go DOWN for a treat-he'll even catch them in the air! He's a boy of many surprises. We're afraid Wiley may be getting overlooked because he's "just another brown dog," but the truth is he's so much more! He'll be your everyday companion and he's looking for someone who will stick with him for life. He's a great jogging partner, and although we recommend a harness, he isn't a regular puller. Though he may suddenly change direction on you, it's easily corrected and overall he walks well on a leash. He's known to do well with other friendly dogs, but what he's really looking for is affection. He loves pets and cuddles. Please don't be discouraged by how he acts in his kennel (he can seem a bit over eager with all the barking and jumping), out in the yard it's like night and day! He's an active boy with a loving heart. Don't just take our word for it, drop in and spend the afternoon with Wiley!

Wiley's adoption fee has been sponsored by Red McCombs Toyota as their Pet of the Month!
