ADOPTED - Bella

UPDATE: Bella found her new family!

Bella excels in all she sets out to do! Whether it's mastering the art of fetch, earning her treats during training exercises, or bubble popping, Bella is one smart cookie. What's she working on currently? An unfortunate trait she likely picked up from a history of being abandoned: separation anxiety. Never heard of it? Separation anxiety isn't just your run-of-the-mill nervousness-dogs that suffer from separation anxiety can cause some serious damage to homes and themselves when left alone (e.g. chewing/scratching furniture or crates). Luckily, Bella has been in our care for months now and she has worked daily with our dog trainer and dog training volunteers to lessen the effects of her anxieties. Currently, Bella enjoys sitting for treats, exercising on her doggie treadmill, popping peanut butter flavored bubbles, and chasing her toys up and down the yard.

Bella Bath2019

Adopters seriously interested in Bella should speak with our Dog Trainer, Jenna, about how they can help her succeed! Adopters will be offered full training support so that we can help a smooth transition from shelter to new home. We are looking for a companion that either works from home or can guarantee that Bella will not be left alone at home for extended periods of time. Although she is also actively working on her reactivity with other dogs, we believe Bella would do well in a home without other pets (especially small animals). She does well with children and anyone willing to toss her toys around! Please consider making Bella a part of your family today.

ADOPTED - Amelia

UPDATE: Amelia found her new family!

Amelia is currently our longest feline resident. She appreciates pets and affection, and is really looking to stretch her legs. She's a curious young lady! Amelia is not a fan of other cats and isn't super interested in being held or closely cuddled. But a good scratch and pet while couch-surfing will certainly be welcomed. She was found as a stray and brought to the San Antonio Humane Society so she could find her forever home. We hope Amelia will find her forever home soon! Amelia has a Guardian Angel. This means a generous donor has sponsored her adoption fee!

When meeting Amelia, please keep in mind that she is adjusting to everyday life in unfamiliar surroundings. Please forgive her if she can't seem to keep her attention on you: she may be nervous or distracted by other sights and smells.

ADOPTED - Donut and Coffee

UPDATE: Donut and Coffee found their new family!

Donut and Coffee have Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) or "Wobbly Cat Syndrome." CH is caused by an underdeveloped cerebellum and affects a cat’s balance and coordination. This is what causes their jerky or “wobbly” steps. They may trip and fall sometimes, but don't worry! This condition doesn't affect their lifespan and doesn't cause them any pain. Donut and Coffee are sweet kittens who love to play and receive attention. We are hoping they will find the perfect home together, and we're asking for your help to share their story and find them a forever family!

We're looking for adopters who either live in a one-story home or a two-story home with safety gates on stairs to prevent falls. Additionally, because CH cats are more vulnerable to predators, they must be indoor cats only.

Thank you Wayward Whiskers Cat Rescue for caring for Donut and Coffee until they were ready for adoption.
