Adoptable Dogs & Puppies
Although we remain closed to the general public, we are piloting a “no contact” adoption process so that you can still bring home a new best friend. If you would like more photos/or video not available below, please send an email to adoption@SAhumane.org and mention photos/video and the pets name in the subject line
Interested in adopting a pet?
1. Fill out an online application (when you find the pet you are interested in in our pet listings click the button that says "Interested in this animal? Click here").
2. Send an email to adoption@SAhumane.org (please include the name of the pet(s) and ID# on the subject line, as well as attach a government-issued ID and proof of residence).
3. All the information will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis, and adoption interviews will take place over the phone.
Available vs Stray Search
You will see both “Available” and “Stray Search” animals on this page. This is indicated on their profile under “Stage”. What does “Stray Search” means? When an animal comes into our facility as a found pet, we will place a temporary hold allowing their owners an opportunity to find their loved ones. Once an animal is available for adoption, their "Stage" will be updated to “Available”. We ask that you continue to check back for updates on those pets.
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, complimentary wellness exam (within 5 days of adoption) and follow-up care (within 14 days of adoption) at any VCA Animal Hospital, and 30 days of 24PetWatch Pet Insurance.
