El Rey Fido 2014

El Rey Fido Royal Rules
The winner of the competition shall be designated “El Rey Fido 2014,” and shall be entitled to that title until his/her successor is named at the coronation in 2015.

The fundraising deadline is March 13, 2014 at 5pm (offline donations need to be at the SAHS by 5pm).
El Rey Fido 2013
The title of “El Rey Fido 2014,” will be awarded to the contestant who raises the most money during the 2014 El Rey Fido fundraiser. The remaining four Royal Court titles (Prince/Princess of the Perpetual Food Bowl, Duke/Duchess of the Indestructible Chew Toy, Duke/Duchess of the Ever-Present Fire Hydrant, and Knight/Maiden of the Royal Court) will be awarded to the next four highest fundraisers. Titles will be held until his/her successor is named at the Coronation in 2015.

During this period (the “Year of Service”), El Rey Fido and the Royal Court are required to participate in media appearances. These activities are designed, scheduled, arranged, and supervised by the San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) the Director of Communication or designated shelter employee.

The SAHS has also developed procedures and requirements that govern the activities and conduct of El Rey Fido and Royal Court during their Year of Service. All procedures, standards, and requirements are intended to protect and ensure the safety of our El Rey Fido and Royal Court, to continually increase the positive public image of the SAHS, and assure that the El Rey Fido competition will continue to raise money and awareness for the benefit of the thousands of animals who pass through this shelter each year.

How to Win
It’s as simple as this: To become crowned El Rey Fido XII in April 2014, your dog (and you) must collect more money for the orphaned pets of the San Antonio Humane Society than any other canine-and-human pair.

El Rey Fido will lead a Royal Court to include the next four top dog fundraisers.

El Rey Fido XII and the Court will serve as ambassadors for the San Antonio Humane Society for the following year.
